ASU’s Thomas Sidelined
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State freshman guard Devonte Thomas has been ruled out for the Peach Belt Conference Tournament after suffering a jaw injury in the final game of the regular season.
Thomas, the Jaguars' second-leading scorer at 12.7 ppg., suffered a broken jaw on Saturday, Feb. 25 after a "flagrant 2" technical foul was called on Armstrong Atlantic State's Stephen Davis with 6:52 remaining in the game. Davis, a junior, was subsequently ejected from the game by referee Steve Deibel. On Friday, Davis was dismissed from the Pirates' men's basketball program.
Thomas had scored 47 points in his last two games, including a career-high 27 on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Lander.
